Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using GlowSquare (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, customers, and registered service providers.
2. About GlowSquare
GlowSquare is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers (“Providers”). GlowSquare facilitates the discovery and booking of services but is not itself a service provider. Providers listed on the Platform are independent businesses responsible for the services they offer.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or the Platform.
4. Bookings
- Bookings are made directly with Providers through the Platform.
- A booking is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email from GlowSquare.
- GlowSquare does not guarantee the quality or outcome of any service — Providers are independent businesses solely responsible for the services they render.
- Where a Provider requires manual approval, the booking is not guaranteed until the Provider confirms it.
5. Deposits and Payments
- Some Providers require a deposit at the time of booking. Deposits are processed securely via Paystack and held until the appointment is completed.
- The remaining balance for services is due directly to the Provider at the time of the appointment, unless otherwise stated on the Provider's profile.
- GlowSquare charges Providers a monthly subscription fee for access to the Platform. No additional per-transaction fee is charged to customers.
- All prices displayed on the Platform are in South African Rand (ZAR) and inclusive of VAT where applicable.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
- Customers may cancel a booking at any time from their dashboard.
- Deposit refunds are subject to the individual Provider's cancellation policy. Where a Provider has not set a specific policy, the default is: cancellations made more than 24 hours before the appointment are eligible for a full deposit refund; cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment are non-refundable.
- Where a refund is due, GlowSquare will process it within 3–5 business days. GlowSquare is not liable for delays caused by banking institutions or payment processors.
- If a Provider cancels a confirmed booking, the customer will receive a full deposit refund.
7. Provider Responsibilities
By registering as a Provider on GlowSquare, you agree to:
- Provide services as accurately described on your profile.
- Maintain up-to-date availability, pricing, and service listings.
- Honour all confirmed bookings to the best of your ability.
- Hold any professional licences, certifications, or permits required by South African law for the services you offer.
- Comply with all applicable South African laws and regulations.
- Not solicit customers to transact outside the Platform for services originally discovered through GlowSquare.
8. Customer Responsibilities
As a customer, you agree to:
- Arrive on time for scheduled appointments.
- Treat Providers and their staff with respect.
- Provide accurate contact and booking information.
- Pay any remaining balance owed to the Provider at the time of the appointment.
- Notify the Provider in advance if you are unable to attend a booked appointment.
9. Reviews and Ratings
- Only customers with a completed and verified booking may leave a review.
- Reviews must be honest, accurate, and based on genuine first-hand experience.
- GlowSquare reserves the right to remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, or otherwise in violation of these Terms.
- Providers may not incentivise, pressure, or manipulate customers to alter or remove reviews.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Platform to:
- Engage in any unlawful activity.
- Circumvent the Platform by arranging bookings or payments directly with Providers you discovered through GlowSquare.
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content.
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its systems.
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce Platform content without our written permission.
11. Intellectual Property
All Platform content — including the GlowSquare name, logo, design, and underlying software — is owned by or licensed to GlowSquare and protected under South African intellectual property law. Provider content (such as photos, service descriptions, and business names) remains the property of the respective Provider, but by uploading it you grant GlowSquare a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform.
12. Privacy and POPIA
We collect and process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
13. Limitation of Liability
GlowSquare operates as a marketplace and is not liable for:
- The quality, safety, or outcome of services rendered by Providers.
- Any dispute between a customer and a Provider.
- Loss or damage arising from a Provider's failure to honour a booking.
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GlowSquare's total liability in relation to any claim shall not exceed the value of the deposit paid for the booking in question.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold GlowSquare, its directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform or your breach of these Terms.
15. Amendments
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were last updated.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
